Easy, Homemade Olive Tapenade!

Olive tapenade is one of the most wonderful, flavorful and creamy dips you can get, and it's also super easy to make yourself!

You can actually make the most delicious homemade olive tapenade in about 10 minutes! Serve it with some pieces of toasted bread, a few good crackers or use it as an ingredient in cooking. There are super many possibilities for use, and the web is full of inspiration!

This is a basic recipe, so feel free to substitute, add or change it to get your olive tapenade just the way you want it!

For example, it could be adding sun-dried tomatoes, glass artichokes, grilled and pickled peppers or maybe some fresh chili?

You can also adjust the consistency according to taste and preference, it may be that you would like your olive tapenade to be a little coarser, or it should be completely uniform and homogeneous.

Whatever you choose to make, you won't be disappointed with this gorgeous olive tapenade!

Ingredients:

100g pitted black olives

100g pitted green olives

½ dl good extra virgin olive oil

Juice from half a lemon

1-2 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp. capers (can be omitted)

1 handful of your favorite fresh herb (parsley, thyme, sage, etc.)

Salt and pepper

All you need is a blender or mini chopper and a spoon or dough scraper to scrape the edges. And of course a bowl to serve your fantastic homemade olive tapenade!

If you don't eat the whole olive tapenade at once, it can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to a week. But we can almost guarantee that it will be eaten before then!

Course of action:

  • All the ingredients are prepared and measured, the garlic is peeled and the juice from the lemon is squeezed.

  • Put it all in the mini chopper or blender, and run until you have the desired consistency, stop a little before.

  • Now the edges are scraped down so that you get the whole thing. Here you can also taste whether it is missing something, e.g. salt and pepper.

  • Then run the whole thing one last time until you have achieved the desired consistency.

Now you have simply made your own wonderful, homemade olive tapenade! Serve it in a nice little bowl, a small plate or on a plate surrounded by biscuits for dipping.

Your homemade olive tapenade is perfect for the tapas table, the quick pasta dish, in a sandwich or as a side dish for meat and vegetables. In fact, whatever you want!

As you can see, making olive tapenade is definitely not a science, yet it is sure to impress guests and family. And it just tastes best when you've made it yourself!
