Greek orange water at its best! Orangeade is a refreshing drink made from oranges that will definitely take you back to the Greek sun and warmth. It is sweet, bubbly and slightly bitter, just as we know the beloved orange fruits.
This orange water is produced by Gerani, whose history can be traced back to 1928, when Sophocles Anagnostakis from Chania returned home from the United States, with the desire to produce bottled soda for distribution in his native Greece. Production started at home in his own garden, where everything was neatly produced by hand. Since then, the company has had growing pains, and can now boast of being Greece's oldest soft drink manufacturer.
Greeks take great pride in the purity of their ingredients, which is why you get a product out of the ordinary when you choose Greek soda. This orangeade is no exception, as it contains a full 20% orange juice and a minimum of additives.
You may be familiar with orangeade's more familiar cousin, lemonade, but this orange water certainly won't disappoint! Same refreshing sensation, just with even more sweetness from sun-ripened oranges. Drink orangeade at the lunch table, drink it as an ice-cold refreshment in the hot afternoon sun or use it as a mixer in a delicious drink on Friday evening. Yamas!
