Malamatina is the most well-known producer of retsina, which is a unique Greek white wine, produced from white Savatiano and Roditis grapes and added resin to achieve the special taste. This wine must be produced exclusively in Greece as the only place in the world.
Malamatina is a large family-owned company with a long and extremely interesting history. Their roots can be traced all the way back to 1860, when Efstratios Malamatinas began producing the now well-known wine in the town of Tenedos. Fast forward to the present, Malamatina sells over 50 million bottles each year, both in Greece and in 37 other countries around the world. They have succeeded in this due to their exceptional and reliable quality as well as many pioneering movements over time. Among other things, they were some of the first to produce bottled wine!
