Rakomelo is a Raki with added honey and it's something almost everyone likes!
The vast majority of people who have visited Crete have also become familiar with the traditional Cretan Raki, or Tsikoudia, as it is actually called.
Raki originally comes from Turkey, but the Cretans have adopted it and made their own versions. Raki from Turkey has anise added, and the Cretan Tsikoudia does not!
The Cretans themselves use Rakomelo as a dessert drink, and against colds and runny noses when it's cold.
Rakomelo contains less alcohol than Raki.
